So Long, Moses

Posted by Tim on November 22, 2017

Hi everyone!

I meant to follow up our teaching on the Davidic covenant with a short blog post, but the week got away from me. And, now, we’ve finished up the entire covenants series and are looking forward to Thanksgiving and then Advent.

As we consider Advent, our thoughts may drift along the identity of Christ as the fulfillment of the old covenants. He is, in fact, something of a “new covenant”—a token of God’s mercy, the one who can keep the law and the commandments, and the mighty king, whose throne will be established forever.

I heard this song by Andrew Peterson this week, and it reminded me of the hope we have in Christ as the culmination of all the promises God has made and the redemption that the prophets spoke of. It’s called “So Long, Moses.” The video is edited with pieces of Scripture that underscore the same themes we’ve been looking at over the last month during our Sunday gatherings.

Enjoy! And Happy Thanksgiving!
